U17 Girls Royal team is Presidents Cup National Champions!

The U17 Arsenal Royal girls team brought home the Club's first National Championship this past weekend! After an outstanding weekend and a lot of hard work, the girls were rewarded with the Presidents Cup National Title.
The team had a good run through pool play. In their first game, they beat the Miami Crusaders in their first game, battling back twice, for a 4-2 win. In their second game, they took on Crusaders United from Boston, but fell in a tightly contested match, 1-2. In their third game, against Libertyville Premier from Illinois, the girls played great and came out with a 3-0 win and advanced to the National Championship game.
In the championship game, against Crusaders United (their only loss), the girls played with effort, heart, determination, and the pure will to win. After the teams shared possession for the first 10 minutes, Arsenal gained possession for a good five minutes and sent a player forward to create a scoring opportunity. Arsenal scored within minutes, on a goal by Alex Klema, her fifth goal of the tournament. Defense was the name of the game for the remaining 70-minutes of the game and outstanding defense was played by the whole team. Grace Ramsden made an incredible save at the end of the first half to keep the Crusaders scoreless. The second half was full of incredible defensive plays and every player giving it their every effort. The game ended with Arsenal winning 1-0 and being name Presidents Cup National Champions! Alex Klema ended the four-game tournament with five goals and two assists and Grace Ramsden was named the Most Outstanding Keeper of the tournament. Way to go girls, congratulations! You are National Champions!
