A huge thank you to Wells Fargo and Liz Albrecht for the donation of $5,000 to the Fort Collins Soccer Club's Scholarship Program!
Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE: WFC) has announced that a Fort Collins team member has received one of its annual Volunteer Service Awards. Wells Fargo will contribute $5,000 to Fort Collins Soccer Club in Liz Albrecht’s honor to recognize her valuable contributions to the organization. The funds will be used to provide scholarships to players who cannot afford to pay all or some of the required costs, including registration and uniform fees.
Albrecht, a registered client associate with Wells Fargo Advisors, grew up playing soccer through the Fort Collins Soccer Club where she learned to love the game.
“I think that sports are great for teaching kids many lessons they will use throughout life, such as teamwork, working to the best of your ability, and sportsmanship,” Albrecht said. “Fort Collins Soccer Club does a great job of introducing the game of soccer to children and developing them into competitive players.”
Albrecht served as an assistant coach for three of the club’s recreational and intermediate teams in the spring. She worked with the head coach of two boys’ teams conducting two practices each week in preparation for games on Saturdays. In addition, she ran one practice a week for the girl’s team and assisted with coaching for most of their Saturday games. This fall, Albrecht assists on the U11 Boys Arsenal Gold team, a competitive travel team that competes throughout the state, practicing three times a week with Saturday games.
