Arsenal Colorado introduces new Director of Goalkeeping, Sean Elvert
Arsenal Colorado is excited to introduce Sean Elvert as the Director of Goalkeeping for the club. Elvert comes to Arsenal after serving as the Head Men’s Soccer Coach at Bluffton University, a Division III institution in Ohio and as the Director of Goalkeeping at Greater Toledo Football Club (GTFC). Sean holds a variety of coaching and goalkeeping licenses through the United Soccer Coaches (formerly NSCAA).
Upon completing his undergraduate studies, Sean served as an assistant coach at Bluffton University and Ohio Northern University prior to returning to Bluffton as the Head Men’s Soccer Coach in the summer of 2018. In two seasons, Sean was able to create one of the strongest turnarounds in program history that included tripling their win total this past fall from the 2018 season. The 2019 season saw the program finish with its most wins in the past decade along with setting multiple program records. During his tenure at Bluffton, Elvert mentored 11 academic all-conference student-athletes and four all-conference players.
In his role as a goalkeeper coach at the youth level, Sean has had the opportunity to develop the curriculum and training methods for multiple clubs. In his five seasons spent coaching at the collegiate level, Sean has developed four goalkeepers who have received all-conference accolades. “I couldn’t be more excited to join Arsenal Colorado. The opportunity to join a strong soccer organization while being provided with the chance to give back to the game through the goalkeeping community was an easy decision. I can’t wait to get the spring season started and am looking forward to the continued process of building a strong reputation for Arsenal Colorado goalkeepers. I’ve had the time to visit the state of Colorado including Fort Collins multiple times over the years and can’t wait to call it home!”.
As a Naperville, Illinois native, Sean comes to us with a wealth of playing and coaching experience. His youth days were spent with the Chicago Magic and Chicago Fire Development Academy. Elvert went on to play at Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa. During his tenure as a goalkeeper with the program, the team won four conference championships and made four NCAA Tournament appearances. In those four appearances, they made two runs to the “Final Four” and one trip to the “Sweet 16”.
Sean’s hobbies include traveling, adventuring the outdoors, and being a Chicago sports fan (White Sox not Cubs!).
