competitive Player id sessions begin in early may
Arsenal Colorado will be holding Player ID Sessions to prepare for the 2025/2026 seasonal year. The Player ID process (formerly BYT / tryouts) will look different this year. We will be holding Player ID sessions in May for player placement. Player Identification sessions are scheduled for each age group and gender. Birth Year Training (BYT’s) have been eliminated so each age group has only one date. The exception is the incoming U11s (2015), they will have 2 BYT’s in addition to their Player ID session. All competitive Player ID sessions will be held at the complex including ECNL-RL. Roster spots and player notification will occur after each respective Player ID session in May. Players will receive an invitation through PlayMetrics after Memorial Day at which time they will be able to register for the 2025/2026 seasonal year.
Arsenal Colorado competitive (birth years 2007 - 2015) and PDL (birth years 2016 - 2017) Player ID Sessions will be held throughout the month of May. Any player interested in participating in our competitive or PDL leagues next year will need a numbered shirt for the entire evaluation process. Registration for all age groups is:

The basis of the Player ID sessions is to identify and group players of like ability. The process is not perfect as players grow, develop and mature at different rates, but our procedure takes this into consideration by supporting multiple teams at each age group. Typically, the process can be a stressful period for players and families. In attempt to combat this, the club begins its player identification process early and uses a player’s history within the Arsenal Colorado program. Players are evaluated on their technical abilities, tactical capabilities, psychological traits and overall physical attributes.
There is no binding commitment from player to club until after the CSA official registration process opens (the day after Memorial Day).
Ecnl-rl tryouts
There will be a separate evaluation for ECNL-RL players (U13 – U19 / 2013 - 2007) in early May. Players who are eligible for ECNL-RL placement will receive a separate invitation and additional details for that process. Players interested in the process must register, as well, by clicking on the registration link above. Players from outside Arsenal, who are interested in ECNL-RL should contact Jayme Beamer Halsey (Director of Coaching - Girls) beamer@soccerfortcollins.org or Peter Nash (Director of Coaching - Boys) nash@soccerfortcollins.org to determine eligibility. (Eligible players include current Arsenal Academy and Gold players and players rostered with another ECNL program and/or equivalent platform.)
